What I need to know.

One of the main motivations for my research is my personal connection to physical therapy. My mom has been through physical therapy multiple times for multiple injuries. She's always benefitted from it. What I need to know is what did my mom do differently from others who had surgery and ended up back in the hospital. How does physical therapy help patients recover quicker than healing naturally? Does physical therapy benefit local hospitals as well? Does insurance play a role in how patients pay for physical therapy.
